Mission:

A customer’s plating drums are loaded using a dumping device – the operator pours the material into the chute of the device and uses a scale on the device to determine the amount of material to be fed. As a retrofit project, AViTEQ was commissioned to optimize the loading system and automate the process to improve ease of operation: the raw material was to be poured from the original bins directly into the silo above the vibratory conveyor chute, and the system was to be shut down by means of a tilting plate when the material reached the set weight.

Solution:

The solution provided by AViTEQ is a vibratory discharge unit (model: OA1500/500ASK-MVD), which consists of a hopper above the vibratory chute, a conveyor chute to export the material from the hopper, and a pneumatic flap system. Among them, the flap is installed in the chute in a rotating manner, driven by pneumatic cylinders to realize the opening of the conveyor chute, and move the guide chute to the end of the conveyor chute; after that, the vibrating conveyor chute will transport the material in the hopper to the guide chute in a quantitative manner, and then through the guide chute into the plating drum; when the material reaches the target weight, the flap will be closed automatically.

It is worth noting that the surfaces in contact with screws and other components are additionally treated with a polyurethane coating, a design that not only enhances abrasion resistance but also minimizes operating noise.

Advantage:

The unloading device dramatically reduces operator loading time – instead of having to manually weigh the material on site, the operator simply fills the system and the device regulates the amount of material fed to the plating drums on its own. In addition, thanks to the electromagnetic vibration drive, there are no subsequent costs associated with wear and tear, and the drive will last for decades without maintenance or lubrication.
